Classic Italian Design in Leather
Since 1970, Tony Perotti’s Italian Leather House has been known for its exceptional “Made in Italy” design, superior craftsmanship, and the quality of its finishes and materials. However, it is Tony Perotti’s lifelong respect for the environment that led him to seek out more ecologically-
correct methods of tanning leather that were non-toxic to both humans and the environment. Perotti’s business philosophy is “vera pelle italiano al vegetale” -- to work only the natural way.
Using an age-old process that dates back several thousand years, Tony Perotti’s Italian leather products are fashioned from true Italian skins, tanned exclusively with extracted vegetable dyes and without the use of any harmful substances to man or the ecosystem

"The Leader in Naked Leather"
Since 1972
What is “Naked Leather?” “Naked” leather is a term which Piel created to describe our leather. It is known as “vaqueta” in Colombia. Naked leather is full-grain cowhide which is uncorrected. It is chrome tanned with aniline chemical coloring but without finish or paint.
Scientifically controlled tanning converts the rawhide and skins to semi-organic material not susceptible to decay. The inherent natural virtues of the raw material are enhanced by tremendous durability, aesthetic appeal, and physical properties designed to meet specific requirements for us.
STRENGTH. Leather is constructed by nature as a three-dimensional network of interlacing fibers. Under a microscope, a tiny fragment of leather reveals millions of fibers interwoven in every direction. Hence the extraordinary strength of leather in ration to its weight, its ability to resist tension, tears, and stitching, and to endure repeated flexing.
BREATHABILITY. The scientific term is “transpiration,” and this too is an attribute of leather’s three-dimensional fiber structure. The countless fibers in each square inch of leather conduct and dissipate heat and moisture. For that reason, leather is always associated with comfort.
DURABILITY. The long service life of leather is due to the fiber structure and to the chemical armor imparted by tanning. Leather resists all the causes of decay and deterioration—bacteria, temperature change, humidity variation. The resulting durability is a familiar fact in leather goods.
CARE. Contrary to popular belief, leather is easy to care for. In fact, as a general rule, the less you do to it, the better. Modern leather dies not need endless polishing, and it won’t harden and crack as leather used to. When using leather products to protect and clean, we suggest LEXOL leather care products.
RAW MATERIAL. Leather is a natural product with all that this implies. Shade, grain variation, and natural markings add to its charms. Each hide has its own individual characteristics. These are emphasized and encouraged. Features such as origin, breed, age, and sex of the animal all help. Growth marks and bruises are commonplace, and they distinguish leather from substitutes that attempt to copy. These marking are features, not faults, in the leather.
Natural leather is truly top grain—the prime layer so known for its astonishing softness and supple feel. It absorbs the oils from your hands, and through aging assumes a classic, worn look.
